Climbing Walls & Towers
Timber towers act as a hub for multiple activities. Internal platforms and stairs allow participants to ascend unsupervised and un-belayed to the top platform where they are met by a member of staff and able to access, Aerial Trekking Courses, Zip Wires, Fan Descenders and Abseil Stations. Additionally, man riding hoists on beam trolleys allow wheel chair users to access the same elements.
External and internal walls are used as climbing and abseiling faces with options for lead climbing bolts and a variety of timber or glass fiber features.
The tower doors can be locked to prevent unauthorized access, and allows equipment including crates and Personal Protective Equipment to stored safely inside.
When designing Climbing Towers we include the following features:
- Steel beams and braces negate the use of wire guys and belays, reducing the area required to build and secure the course and eliminating the need for daily inspections that are required with wire cables.
- Safety signage
- Removable Curtains on climbing routes to prevent unauthorized access
- Belay Bolts for Abseiling and Y hangers for Climbing Routes
- Tracer Lines to ease preparation of the tower
- Colour graded climbing routes
- Tested ‘Platipus’ ground belay anchors – one per route
- Machined & Prepared Pressure Treated Timbers with ‘half lap’ to prevent ‘finger trapping’
- Pronged T- Nut every 300mm square to allow climbing routes to be altered
- Safety Hand Rails & kicking board around the top platform and stair wells
- Internal stairs and landings for un-belayed access to the top platform
- Clad wall on one side to allow light into the tower. Additionally, Instructors can monitor activity inside the tower
- A lower abseil ramp for beginner and disabled participants

Boulder and Traverse Walls
A good facility in addition to a climbing wall, a boulder or traverse wall offers low level unsupervised climbing. Participants waiting to climb on the main wall can traverse routes, practicing techniques without the need for technical equipment. Additionally staff can demonstrate climbing moves to a captive audience.
