JM Adventure - Preconstruction of Courses

Design Stages

JM Adventure offers a free, no obligation site visit and quotation within the UK. The visit, by one of our experienced project managers will help determine the suitability of your site and ultimately the design of your course.

It is also an opportunity to get information in relation to risk assessments, and to consider the operation, safe access and the environment of your course. All of which will allow us to design you a unique, tailor made solution that meets your needs.

Some course considerations are:

  • Target age groups
  • Outcomes – developmental/commercial
  • Do you work with disabled participants?
  • Site access
  • Planning permissions
  • Types of participants – Groups/individuals
  • Ground covering/landscaping
  • Tree preservation orders
  • Site and course security
  • Arboriculturist report
  • Under/over ground services
  • Elements required
  • Facilitation, viewing shelters and storage
  • Course themes
  • Inspection access
  • Staff resourcing and ratios
  • Construction phasing
  • Insurance
  • Fencing
  • Lighting
  • Personal protective equipment

Course Design and Engineering

Once we have designed and developed your course we will then send you a proposal and scaled conceptual drawings. The concepts can be mapped into a digital image or satellite photo of your site to aid you with marketing and planning permission.

If you accept our proposal and design, for pole based and indoor courses, we will commission our independent structural and geotechnical engineer to calculate the loads on the design and compile the general arrangements, fabrication drawings and structural conform to the European Ropes Course Association (ERCA) standard, prEN15567-1 safety requirements and test methods.

Disabled access

JM Adventure considers issues associated with access for all participants, irrespective of ability when designing and installing equipment.
